I think that Christopher Columbus was the most inflential explorer in U.S. history because he discovered a whole new land that nobody even new about. Columbus was a great navigator. He was so good that his route is almost the same one that they follow today. With all the technology we have today thats very impressive. Columbus navigated by the stars in sky and a compass.

most significant moment in patriots getting independence from britain
The most significant moment in the american revolution is the Battle of Saratoga. This battle occured in the fall of 1777. The British wanted control of the Hudson River Valley to cut off New England from other colonies. The British attacked the patriots and lost. This battle was very significant because it convinced the French to join them. The French provided naval support and military experience and supplies. This battle was a turning point in the war.
There was 2 battles in the battle of saratoga. Each were 18 days apart. The first battle was won by the British. The British came from Canada and captured fort ticonderoga relativly easy. While they captured the fort easily they moved slowly. This gave the Americans enough time to regroup. Then the british attacked again but some american soldiers went through the woods and cut them off but the British overpowered them. On october 7th the british attacked again. Then the patriots attacked and captured important points. They forced the British to retreat back to Saratoga. The French seeing the victory of the Patriots joined the war. The French gave naval support and soldiers/supplies. This improved every aspect of the patriots. This victory changed the war. With the addition of the french the patriots were a more formidable force. This was the most significant moment for the patriots in the war.
